So far this year, these have been the Judge’s predictions:
- The Dingoes are possible premiership favourites
- The Super League is the Superior League
- The Bucks would win the Champions League
- Natas would equal the 22 game winning streak of the Dingoes
- Then Natas would “fall off a cliff after not drafting anyone good in the MSD”
- The Bucks, Wild Cards, Brawlers and Nexus would be in the semi finals of the Champions League
- Round 1 PSD picks are overrated
- Nick Daicos was not a worthy PSD number 1 pick
- Nexus was going to lose to the Convicts in round 13
- The Sons were going to break the Super League consecutive wins record
And these are the results of those predictions:
- Couldn’t be more wrong – The Dingoes finished bottom of the ladder
- Correct – Super League has 3/4 of the semi-finalists for the Standa Cup, the AFR Cup and the Champions League. They also arguably had a far more even competition this year than the Original League.
- Couldn’t be more wrong – The Bucks went out in the first group stage
- Wrong – Natas lost to the then bottom of the ladder Scorpions after 19 consecutive wins
- Wrong – Natas has made CL semi finals, and are minor premiers, after drafting Sam Berry in the MSD who is arguably the pick of MSD
- Half right – I predicted 2/4 of the semi finalists
- Half right – Whilst some players have come on in the second half of the season the hit ratio of round 1 PSD picks still leaves a lot to be desired
- Wrong – Nick Daicos looks like a Superstar
- Wrong – Nexus beat the Convicts in round 13
- Wrong – The Sons lost the very next game
I think that gives me a score of 2/10…
So given that strike rate, the Judge is now accepting bribes to publicly put the Kiss of Death on anyone’s opponent in the finals.
Judge’s Verdict: I don’t know what I am doing
